(Disclaimer: Sponsored product but all opinions are my own)

Music is a MUST when I'm out for shoots (be it solo adventures or portrait shoots with friends). The Sudio Femtio is a perfect addition to my photography bag as it is powerful, but still portable enough to carry around comfortably.

With 14 hours of play time, a 10m range and IPX6 Water Resistance, Sudio Femtio is definitely a go-to for adventures or travels. It has a built-in microphone and is compatible with both iOS and Android (Siri and Google Assistant). It is easy to use, with a row of lights to indicate battery left and the buttons on the top are easily accessible. Furthermore, with dual-pairing technology, you can pair up to TWO Femtio speakers to your device! Imagine how powerful that could be?

As perfect as it sounds, we have to get down to the more serious issue. How good exactly is the sound quality of this $189 speaker?

I grew up with an audiophile dad and I have always been very picky with my headphones, earphones and speakers. I personally enjoy equipment that give more balanced sounds due to the vast genres of music that I listen to.

What the Sudio Femtio is:

- A good travel companion (lightweight, powerful sound, long-lasting battery life)

- A desk/study table buddy (does not intrude into your personal space)

- Loud for it's size

- Can handle most types of music but it is not that balanced (increasingly obvious when you switch between different volumes)

What the Sudio Femtio is not:

- Party speakers (which you should not be hosting at the moment anyway because of social distancing) - I personally feel that the bass could be deeper considering it's size and quality

- A substitute for a home sound system

- A pocket speaker - it is light but it is also big enough to require a bag to carry it around in

Verdict: Would I buy it?

Personally, I don't believe that I would proactively source it out as a must-have in my collection but if it were a gift I would definitely still use it.

Who would I recommend it for?

Everyone! I think that it is versatile enough for everyone to enjoy. I also feel that it is perfect as a gift for a friend or if you need a simple speaker for your room that is small but powerful. I definitely would not substitute my sound system for it but it is a decent portable speaker for travel or casual use.
